ARCH CONSTRUCTION.
1. Individual ideation:
2. Idea chosen.
The idea chosen was inspired by the common ancient architectural arches, which is usually very simple and plain.We used plasticine in grey to design our arch. Our design was very simple, we created an arch with 2 columns (3 inches, each)
3. Building process.
We shaped the plasticine into blocks.
We arranged the plasticine brick by brick into arch.
Once the parts are shaped, we tested the strength of our arch to improve it.
4. Obstacles
-Difficulties to balance the arch.
-We had trouble trying to get the plasticine to stick together.
5. Outcome
- strong construction
-less aesthetic value
-less neat
6. How to improve
-We need planning and time to build
-We need to put more thought on how to increase the stability
-We need more clay for stronger construction
-We need to make it more attractive
7. What I learned.
I learned about working in team with different people with different ideas and ways of doing work. I learned more about construction and being innovative is so important. We need to do research for better understanding.
